Vic was in a sleeping bag. He could see enough light through the wall of the tent to see that the sun was rising. He felt movement behind him and heard a low grunt. Vic woke up. His heart was pounding. Ella tapped a couple of keys on her laptop, then turned to him. “A little intense?”

“Yeah, no kidding!” His heart rate was slowing, but his mind was still racing. “How the hell did I end up with… I did say any gender, didn’t I?”

“You did. You were only under for five seconds, so I’m not going to count that trip. Would you like to take a break? Do you want to go again?”

Vic thought. “I feel like I have to go back in, but I don’t want that to happen again. Can I get ‘any gender but not big hairy guys?’”

Ella chuckled. “You put him there, honey. Have you ever read Carl Jung?”

Vic knew he had studied Jung for a few days in a first-year Psych course, but that was two decades ago. “No, not really.”
